ZoomInfo, and why connect it to Claude
ZoomInfo is the enterprise data layer for GTM: company and contact records for hundreds of millions of professionals, buying-intent signals, scoops about funding and leadership changes, technographics, and org charts. It is the data most large sales teams already pay for and most reps use through a browser tab and an export button.
Connecting Claude moves that data into the place where the work happens. Ask for the buying committee at an account and get names, titles, and verified contacts. Ask which target accounts showed intent for your category this week. Enrich a thin inbound lead in the same breath as scoring it. The verified data stays ZoomInfo's; Claude does the reading, joining, and writing that used to eat a rep's morning.
Three ways to wire Claude to ZoomInfo
Three ways to wire Claude to ZoomInfo. The connector and the Claude Code plugin share the same hosted MCP server.
The native ZoomInfo connector (MCP)
ZoomInfo announced a native Claude connector in June 2026, powered by its GTM.ai platform, with a hosted MCP server at mcp.zoominfo.com and OAuth sign-in. In Claude.ai or Claude Desktop, search the connector directory for ZoomInfo and connect. In Claude Code, install the official plugin, which bundles the MCP server with ZoomInfo's GTM skills, then authenticate with /mcp. You need a ZoomInfo license (GTM.ai self-serve or Enterprise), and model training must be off in your AI account settings.
The API, via Claude Code or the Agent SDK
For scheduled pipelines, the ZoomInfo API from Claude Code or the Agent SDK: nightly enrichment of new inbound, a weekly intent sweep across the target account list, a monthly refresh of buying committees for open opportunities. Credits and rate limits are the same ones your plan already has.
Clay as the bridge
If your lists live in Clay, use ZoomInfo as a provider in the waterfall and Claude as the reasoning step per row. Good when you want ZoomInfo's data quality inside a list-building flow you already run.

Read first, write on purposeZoomInfo is a read-and-enrich integration; the writes land in your CRM. Two gates matter. Credits: enrichment spends them, so scope searches and enrich the shortlist, not the search results. The CRM write: an enriched, scored record still passes approval before it lands on a system everyone reports from.
What you can do once they're connected
Buying committees for target accounts with verified titles and contact data, assembled in one ask.
Intent and scoops joined to your account list, so the weekly 'who to call' question has an evidence-backed answer.
Thin inbound leads enriched with firmographics and verified contact data before routing.
Prospecting lists built from a plain-English ICP, with each account's fit explained.
What to build with ZoomInfo and Claude
Each is a full playbook or skill you can ship, wired to ZoomInfo.
Build an ICP list
ZoomInfo as the data source, Claude as the scorer, one list out.
Account brief skill
Pull firmographics, scoops, and the org chart into a one-screen pre-call brief.
Visitor-to-outreach trigger
Resolve the visiting company, enrich the right people, reach out the same day.
ICP and persona definition
Write the ICP Claude then turns into a ZoomInfo search.
Connect it, step by step
- Confirm you have a ZoomInfo license that includes MCP access (GTM.ai self-serve or Enterprise) and that model training is turned off in your Claude account settings.
- In Claude.ai or Claude Desktop, open the connector directory, search for ZoomInfo, connect, and complete the OAuth sign-in in the browser.
- In Claude Code, run the official plugin install for ZoomInfo, then authenticate with /mcp.
- Start with a read: the buying committee at one target account. Check titles and contacts against ZoomInfo before enriching anything.
- For nightly enrichment or weekly intent sweeps, move to the API from Claude Code and set a credit budget per run.
Gotchas worth knowing first
- Credits apply to enrichment through MCP exactly as they do in the app. An agent that enriches every search result instead of the shortlist will burn a month of credits in an afternoon.
- Model training must be off in your AI account settings, and data pulled through MCP cannot be used to train models. Your admin will ask; have the answer ready.
- The connector only does what your ZoomInfo account is allowed to do. A tool that fails is usually an entitlement, not a bug.
- Intent signals are probabilistic. Treat a spike as a reason to look, not a reason to send, and let Claude explain the signal before a rep acts on it.
Claude + ZoomInfo: common questions
Does Claude integrate with ZoomInfo?
Yes. ZoomInfo runs a hosted MCP server at mcp.zoominfo.com and is a native connector in Claude.ai and Claude Desktop, announced in June 2026. There is also an official Claude Code plugin that bundles the server with ZoomInfo's GTM skills.
What can Claude do with ZoomInfo data?
Search companies and contacts, enrich accounts and people with verified firmographics and contact data, pull buying intent and scoops, and build prospecting lists, all from a chat or a Claude Code run. Actions follow your ZoomInfo permissions and credits.
Who can use the connector?
Customers with a ZoomInfo license, either GTM.ai self-serve or Enterprise. You also need model training turned off in your Claude account settings, and the data cannot be used to train AI models.
Does enrichment through Claude cost credits?
Yes, the same credits and limits as your plan. Search wide and enrich the shortlist only, and give scheduled jobs a credit budget, so the agent spends like a careful rep and not like an export button.
What is the first play to run?
The buying committee for one target account, with verified titles and contacts, joined to any intent or scoops from the last month. It is read-only, it exercises the connector end to end, and a rep can use it on the next call.
