Outreach, and why connect it to Claude
Outreach is the sequencing and execution layer for large outbound teams: prospects, accounts, sequences, tasks, the dialer, and a growing set of call and email intelligence on top. It is where the daily outbound work happens, and where a lot of generic copy gets sent to a lot of people who never reply.
Connecting Claude puts a reasoning step in front of that machine. Claude can look up an account's history in Outreach, read the last call, decide which sequence fits, and write the personalized steps from what it found. Then it creates the task or the enrollment, and you approve it. Outreach keeps the execution; Claude supplies the judgment the sequences were missing.

The official Outreach MCP server, as a connector
Outreach ships a remote MCP server at api.outreach.io/mcp and is listed in the Claude connector directory. It exposes read tools across prospects, accounts, opportunities, sequences, tasks, and conversation intelligence, plus create tools (sequences, tasks, prospects, enrollments) and delete tools that ask for confirmation. Requirements: the Amplify add-on with active credits, a licensed seat, and an admin who has switched on MCP under Administration, Organization, Org Info, Gen AI. Best for reps and managers working from a chat.
The REST API, via Claude Code or the Agent SDK
For scheduled automations, call the Outreach API from Claude Code or the Agent SDK. This is also the only path today for updates, since the MCP server launched with read, create, and delete tools only. Clay or a workflow tool as the bridge
If your lists already run through Clay, let Clay enrich and score, use Claude as the reasoning step in the table, and push the qualified rows into Outreach sequences through Clay's native integration. Least new plumbing, most reuse of what you already have.

Connect it, step by step
- Ask your Outreach admin to enable the MCP Server toggle under Administration, Organization, Org Info, Gen AI. Your org needs the Amplify add-on with credits.
- In the Claude app, open Settings, then Connectors, search for Outreach, and connect. Sign in with your own Outreach login; the connector inherits your profile permissions.
- Start with reads: ask for an account's prospects, the sequences they are in, and the last call. Check the answer against Outreach until you trust it.
- Run one enrollment by hand from a Claude recommendation, with the copy pasted into the sequence step yourself.
- Move recurring work to Claude Code or the Agent SDK on the REST API, and keep creates and deletes behind a review step.
Gotchas worth knowing first
- The official MCP server launched with read, create, and delete tools and no update tools, a deliberate choice by Outreach. Anything that edits an existing record goes through the REST API for now.
- You need a real, licensed user at the keyboard. The server does not support client-credential auth, so a headless nightly job runs on the API, not the MCP server.
- MCP is gated behind the Amplify add-on and an admin toggle. Find out whether your org has both before you build the demo.
- Standard API throttles apply to MCP calls. A prompt that asks Claude to walk every prospect in a 5,000-row sequence will hit the ceiling; scope the ask.

Does Claude integrate with Outreach?
